I founded JMK Strength & Conditioning in 2019 after being headhunted by Taylor's Strength Training to run the Olympic Weightlifting and Strength & Conditioning operations at their gym. Since then the weightlifting team has grown quickly and in April 2021 became Liverpool Weightlifting Club.

Prior to running JMK I worked as a Strength & Conditioning Coach at John Moores University, University of Liverpool and at Northumbria University. At each University I had the opportunity to provide strength and conditioning support to athletes of all abilities, from pure participation to the elite in a variety of sports including: Football, Netball, Rugby, Basketball, Lacrosse, Athletics, American Football, Swimming, Water Polo, Badminton and even Equestrian.   

What to expect from your coaching?

Although what we do can certainly be seen as complex, I put a lot of time and care into fundamentals. Performing the basics correctly and consistently will always form the widest base to the highest peak.
The coaching feedback loop with JMK pivots on a 'plan, do, review' paradigm. Athletes will all receive frequent reviews and detailed technical breakdowns with paths to progress to ensure that all athletes have the best opportunity to develop in accordance with what is best for them individually.

My mission with Olympic Weightlifting is very simple, and that is to aid in the growth and participation of Olympic Weightlifting in the city of Liverpool and surrounding areas, by providing high quality coaching and education to anyone who wishes to get involved.
